Music! Music! Manage Those Chores!
A friend of mine, of the male gender, once admitted to me that he hated housework, but found it not only tolerable, but enjoyable when he played Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. the beat kept him going.
Until today, when Paul made his suggestion today about music as a subject of today’s blog, I had forgotten all about that helpful hint that just kind of rolled my way many years ago.
And all those years ago, after my friend told me that, I went home, put on the 1812 Overture and sure enough, my energy began to rise! And even though it had been a brutal day, as the music played, I managed to get first one more thing off my “Home and house to do list”, and then another and another. And while I worked and the music played, I sang the tune out loud. By the end of the piece, I’d accomplished a lot in remarkably short time!
Now this may not be easy if you have a spouse or a child who doesn’t particularly share your enthusiasm for whatever music you put on. But if it helps you get stuff done, negotiate! Put your head phones on! Or just demonstrate how to stick to what you want when those around you are giving you negative vibes!
And best of all, have fun!
